BMW 3 E30 ERROR CODES

1. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.

2. Press and release the accelerator pedal 5 times. It is necessary to press strongly and rhythmically, to the floor; let it go to the end. On Motronics 3.X a series of clicks should be VERY fast. The first time it may not work.

3. Wait a few seconds.

4. The “Check Engine” lamp will flash 1 time, then it will flash, giving out a DME self-diagnosis code.

5. All codes contain 4 digits. The number of blinks corresponds to a digit. There is a pause between the numbers.

For example: ON, pause, ON ON, pause, ON ON, pause, ON ON, OFF corresponds to code 1222.

6. All error codes are displayed sequentially. When all codes are issued, the sequence is cyclically repeated.

7. Turn off the ignition.
